Sven's farewell to Baal on New Year's Day
The highlight of New Year's Day is the GP Sven Nys in Baal which, of course, takes on extra significance this year as it will be Nys' final appearance on his very own Balenberg course.
World champion Mathieu van der Poel has choosen to train in Spain rather than tackle the tough Baal course in the Trofee series – where he is out of contention after missing the opening rounds. The controversy in Bredene on Wednesday is surely only going to inspire the 'Cannibaal from Baal' into a special performance in front of his home crowd.
The Baal crowd always creates a great atmosphere, but on Friday will be a very special so catch a livestream (from 14:15 CET) if you are not able to travel.
Pauwels & Co become Boys in Blue
The Boys in Red of Sunweb-Napoleon Games will become the Boys in Blue of Marlux-Napoleon Games from January 1st. Kevin Pauwels' team revealed their new jersey earlier in the week as garden tile company Marlux became the title sponsor. Outgoing Sunweb became a sponsor of the Giant-Alpecin and Liv-Plantur teams in 2015.

Crelan Bank puts its weight behind Vastgoedservice
Wout Van Aert will also be sporting a different kit from January 1st as Golden Palace ends its support of the Kempen-based team and the Crelan Bank takes its place. With Sven Nys and his team mate Sven Vanthourenhout both retiring at the end of the season, Crelan continue their support of cyclocross by teaming up with the young squad founded around Rob and Wilfried Peeters.
The team - which will be known as Crelan-Vastgoedservice - are expected to adopt an orange and green kit – based on the two sponsors corporate colours – so they should be pretty easy to spot! Their new colours were revealed on Twitter on New Year's Eve.
Nikki Harris' 'pink' Boels-Dolmans debut delayed
This is Nikki Harris' new pink Specialized Crux which she will race in 2016 as she switches from Telenet-Fidea to Boels-Dolmans.
The British champion hoped to debut for the Dutch team on New Year's Day Trophy in Baal but has been unwell over Christmas and continues to recover. The British championship in Shrewsbury will be a big goal for Harris as she attempts to wrestle the crown from Helen Wyman for a second time.
Nikki said thank you for the support of Telenet-Fidea with this Instagram post.

Disappointed of course to be sick at the moment but another reason for me starting today was to also race my last race in Telenet Fidea colours, I've made a lot of great memories there that will last a life time. Thanks for all the help, especially all the girls (past and present team mates for making it so fun at the races! ). Excited to make some new memories with @boelsdolmansct come January 1st 😉 hopefully my supporters will follow me in my new clothes 😁🎉.... Till then #cyclocross #newchapter

Its time to say "Good bye"... Dear friends, after 13 years in the Colnago ProCycling Team it's time to say THANK YOU. The end of 2015 will also be the end of the unique experience that helped me to grow up not only athletically but also personally: I decided to start a new adventure from January 2016, which is going to involve once again my career in this sport and my personal life as a human being. My Team-shirt is changing and I am going to wear the one of the american Luna Chix Team. A new experience, in the United States of America for the next years. I thought about it for a long time and it has been a difficult decision to take after so many years in the Colnago Team, which made me grow, and saw me wearing more than 20 italian champion jerseys, winning world championships, partecipating two Olympic Games and getting so satisfied thanks to cyclocross in international competitions. Thanks from the bottom of my heart to all of you. Thanks to Ernesto Colnago, who has always believed in me and created for me amazing bicycles I used all over the world, and thanks to my President Erminio Bolgiani, who has been an essential guide behind the scenes. Thanks to my technicians, to Edi, Lukas and Jerry, my team Managers, and to my important sponsors. Thanks to all of my today's and yesterday's mates; Nathi,Evelyn,Andrea,Lisa,Julia,Emilie and Fabian. If it wasn't for all of you, I wouldn't be the person that I actually am. Working in a Team has been something extraordinary, and it's also thanks to them if I am ready to start and face a new game. THANK YOU😊👍🏻
